RESOURCE-SAVING

Resource efficiency means much more than conserving natural resources. It also includes the productivity factors of material, machine and labour. The plastics industry contributes a lot to resource efficiency.

CENA is generally responsible with the resources it uses and contributes a lot to resource efficiency.

Our machines are equipped with electric servo pump drives, which are more efficient than hydraulic permanent pump drives. Likewise, our plasticising systems are energy-optimised and contribute to the reduction of primary energy requirements.

RECYCLING

The use of recycled materials has been an important part of our sustainability strategy for more than 20 years.

We recycle production waste directly at the production units or prepare it for recycling using our own re-granulating extruder. Our recycling rate is thus approx. 80%.

PV GENERATION

With a large and modern PV system on the roofs of our buildings, we generate about 10% of our electricity used from renewable energy sources.

WR GAIN

In industry, waste heat is generated at many points in the production process and is often released unused into the environment. So that the waste heat generated in the production process can be used again in the company, we use intelligent heat exchangers - also called heat exchangers - for heat recovery.

On the one hand, this leads to significant savings in heating costs of 100% and, on the other, protects the environment.

For years, we have managed without fossil fuels or auxiliary heating.

e-vehicles

Electric vehicles combat climate change because they run on electricity rather than fossil fuels.

The charging stations for our electric vehicles are powered by our own electricity, which we generate with our PV system. Our e-fleet includes e-trucks, all-electric cars and hybrids.

e-bikes

Since 2018, we have enabled our employees to use high-quality e-bikes. With this offer, we want to specifically promote the health of our employees. 

With the new mobility offer, we are making an active contribution to keeping our employees healthy and, on top of that, making an important contribution to environmental protection.
